The Montessori House of St Johns is hiring!
The Montessori House of St Johns is a strong, supportive, and vibrant community that serves families with children, 1 through 6 years of age. We have created nurturing communities for the holistic development of toddlers and preschoolers. We are a year round, bilingual (English/Spanish) community with a strong commitment to providing our community with many opportunities to explore artistic expression, social justice, and environmental stewardship.
We are currently interviewing for an Afternoon Support Teacher.
Qualified applicants should have at least one year teaching experience working with young children (and love it!) and have or be able to obtain: fingerprint clearance, CPR/First Aid, training in Child Abuse/Neglect, and an Oregon Food Handler’s permit.
The schedule is 10 to 6 Monday through Friday. The Afternoon Support Teacher offers support to teachers of our Montessori programs from 10 to 3 and then works with our Community Connections classes from 3-6. The teacher would be on-site support to mentors providing creative arts workshops in the afternoon, as well as lead at least one afternoon workshop a week. Teachers are responsible for the care and safety of the children, overseeing the student’s activities, and maintaining the classroom environments which includes organizing, preparing materials, and light cleaning. Montessori experience and/or fluency in Spanish is preferred but not required. We are looking to fill this position immediately.
