St Johns Parade 2018

We are excited for another fun St Johns Day with the St Johns Parade and the St Johns Bizarre on Saturday, May 12th! If you have not joined us for this special event before, it is not to be missed! Each year we join together as a community, all dress in our Montessori House shirts, decorate our bikes, strollers, and wagons with streamers and signs and stroll down the streets of St Johns in the parade. At the end of the parade we take a moment at the St Johns Community Center to take a group photo before heading out to see the amazing offerings of the Bizarre!

The theme this year is “Neighbors: Cheering Old, Greeting New! ”! We are going to repeat our idea from past years and organize ourselves in colored t-shirts to create a human rainbow. Please sign up for the color you would like your family to dress in. You are welcome to dye your current MH shirt or bring in a plain colored shirt to have printed.

Please submit shirts to have the Montessori House logo printed on the front, no later than 4:30pm on May 4th (price: $5). Make sure it is labeled. We will give everyone their shirts at the Parade Prep Pizza Party on Thursday, May 10th.   We can’t wait to celebrate St Johns with you!

So… What do you have to do??

  1. Choose the shirt color for your family to sport in the St Johns Parade
  2. Submit shirts to have logo printed on them by Friday, May 5th.
  3. Attend the Parade Prep Pizza Party (5/10 4:30-6:30): Bring your bike, wagon, and/or stroller to decorate, make signs, decorate the banner, eat pizza and pick up your Parade T-shirt!
  4. Meet in front of Roosevelt High School on May 12th between 11:30 and 11:45 to march in the parade!
